Information required by forensic economists to calculate economic loss damages:
- Personal Injury Checklist (for wage-earners & self-employed)
- Wrongful Death Checklist (for wage-earners & self-employed)
- Family Profile Form (parental information required in cases involving children, teenagers, or young adults)
- Estate Dispute Checklist (for applicant or respondent)
Diaries
The injured claimant or family member must complete these Diaries so the loss of housekeeping claim can be quantified:
Brown Economic Consulting is the only expert witness firm to have created an intake Diary which has been tested by counsel and used by plaintiffs for more than 25 years, as well as approved by the Court of Appeal of Alberta in Baker v. Poucette 2017 ABCA 334 (paras. [40] through to [44]) as evidence for the family’s claim to loss of household services performed by the decedent.
